Alva’s College of Naturopathy and yogic science is a vision of philanthropist and connoisseur. Dr. M. Mohan Alva. It came into its nascent existence in the year 2003.Today, within a short span it has catapulted into an epitome of quality of education in the field of naturopathy and yogic sciences rivaling the best institution in the country. It is also an abode of rich cultural and traditional extravaganza of the country as it has a vibrant mix of students from across the country and abroad, which cherish moment of their stay here.

Moodbidri is a bustling temple town with air of progressiveness on the long winding NH-13, 35 kms from coastal town of Mangalore. Richly-laden with coconut palms and exotic floras. It is picture perfect destination tucked away in the green valleys down the scenic on its far west. It is also known for its easygoing and highly literate population.

HYDROTHERAPY

Hydrotherapy is a system where water is used at different temperature and forms on the human body for treatment and cure of various diseases and to maintain health.The water is applied through various modes like baths, douches irrigation/enema, compresses, fomentations, packs etc. Hydrotherapy is capable of healing most of the acute & chronic diseases.


ACUPUNCTURE

Acupressure is one of the ancient of the various and simplest oriental therapies. It produces healing effects on the internal organs of the body through well-defined points on the body surface. By applying pressure on these selected points, related organs can be influence for getting rid of their ailment. This therapy is very helpful in acute sinusitis, bronchial asthma, pain in eyes, toothache, throat pain, hyperacidity, constipation, fatigue, migraine, paralysis, stiffness of shoulders, sciatica, back pain, spinal pain, neck pain, headache, nervous problems and hypertension.

Mud is one of five element of nature having immense impact on the body in health as well as in sickness. It can be employed conveniently as therapeutic agent. Color of the mud absorbs all the colors of the sun and conveys them to the body. The mud retains moisture and rejuvenates the body. It is employed in treatment of various diseases like constipation, skin diseases etc.

Your food is your medicine is the main slogan of nature is the single greatest natural healing therapy. It is nature’s ancient, Universal “remedy” for many problems. Juice fasting is commonly used (rather than water alone) as mild and effective cleansing plan. Fresh juices are easily assimilated and require minimum digestion while they supply many nutrients and stimulate our body to clear its wastes. Juice fasting is also safer then water fasting because it supports the body nutritionally while cleansing and probably even produces a better detoxification and quicker recovery.


PHYSIOTHERAPY

MAGNETO THERAPY

The use of magnets is an aid of nature. The application of magnets work as a medicine &restores the body to its natural state. The therapy uses seven colours of the spectrum which are associated with specific healing properties. These colours are employed through the radiations on body or by administering charged water, oil and pills for treatment.


YOGA

Yoga an ancient art of right living has now been developed as a separate medical science. MaharshiPatanjali propounded it in a systematic form, which consists of eight component namely restraint ,observance of austerity, physical postures, breathing exercises, restraining of sense organs ,contemplation, meditation and Samadhi. TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The teaching facility consists of highly qualified full time staff, with the adjunct staff of part time instructor from various medical colleges and guest faculty of highly placed professionals. Audio visual training aids are available to supplement class room sessions. Regular naturopathy and yoga camps are arranged to give a practical insight. Full pledged Naturopathy and yoga hospital inside the campus helps the students to improve in their clinical aspects.

Transport facilities are available for daily communication between hostels, colleges and clinical out postings at various centres. College also provide transport facilities as per special needs of the students whenever required.


LIBRARY

The college library has a vast array of books from authors of national and international repute medical sciences. The library catalogue lists more than 2000 medical books and latest journals, which is proud asset for the institution. The library also has broadband internet facilities.


E-RESOURCES

The college has access to international and national journal database through HELINET. It allows downloading more than 200 international journals from ELSEVEIR and OVIOD publishers etc. Full text of all the dissertation work done in post-graduation curriculum in RGUHS is also available online.


SPORTS

The college campus is abuzz with sporting activities round the year where students get opportunities to participate in various events. With the kind of support and encouragement sports talents ion the recent past. As a result, our students have become regular fixtures in the university teams. Apart from this AEF Sports Club hosts All -India-University Athletic Meet, Mangalore University Athletic Meet, Sports and Games of various levels where student physical therapists gets on field clinical postings to assess sports injuries.


HOSTEL

Institution provides excellent boarding facilities separately for girls and boys with a multi-cuisine mess providing north and south Indian food. Hostel also has provision for 24 hours uninterrupted current and water supply. The institution strongly prohibits ragging in any form. To prevent any untoward incidence of ragging, the institution provides separate accommodation for first years.


NSS

We have fully functional NSS unit in our institution working to generate community awareness and social responsibilities among students. Every year under NSS unit, we conduct blood donation camps, health and patient guidance camps, community awareness programme dealing with Aids, forestation, and monument protection, in nearby villages on regular bases. NSS unit also run frequent personality development programme such as quiz, debates, mock parliament and mock press for wholesome grooming of the students.

ALVA’S NATURE CURE AND YOGA HOSPITAL

 

AnandamayaArogyadhamais uniquely designed integrated health centre which is attached to naturopathy and Yoga College has various Naturopathy, Yoga, Ayurveda & Physiotherapy modalities of treatment established for the purpose of providing health to all its clients. Located in midst of greenery this centre has experienced staffs and well equipped treatment rooms to deliver the best possible results from the therapies.
