Alva’s college of Hospital Administration started in the year 2008 with master’s degree in Hospital Administration. This course is recognized by Govt. of Karnataka and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore. In 2010 the Institution got approval for BHA (Bachelors of Hospital Administration) which is a 3 year (6 Semester) program Affiliated by Rajiv Gandhi University. Presently students are pursuing the BHA & MHA courses.

Eligibility for Master in Hospital Administration course

To be eligible for admission a candidate shall have obtained:

Bachelor degree in any one of the following from an institution recognized by respective council where applicable, and is affiliated to RGUHS –viz., MBBS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing (Basic or Post basic) B. Pharma, B.Sc. in Allied Health Science, or from any other university established under law considered equivalent thereto by RGUHS. The candidate shall have obtained permanent registration in the respective state council where applicable.


Bachelor degree in Arts, Commerce, Law, Engineering or Management of a University Established under law & recognized by the University Grants Commission and shall have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate of marks in all the years of university examination of degree course. In case of SC/ST candidates shall obtain minimum marks of 45%.

Eligibility for Bachelor in Hospital Administration course

To be eligible for admission a candidate shall have obtained:

A two year pre university examination or its equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with any principle subjects of study.


Pre degree course from a recognized University / Board (two years after ten years of schooling) with any principle subject of study.

The College has an in house Library, which has more than 3000 books pertaining to Management, Hospital Related. It subscribes to several national and international journals like Healthcare management Review, Journal of Academy of Hospital Administration etc. In addition the library has a good collection of Statistical data sources, project reports and dissertations of previous batches, back volumes of journals and magazines and audio and video cassettes on management areas.
